Cream Cheese Bars feature layers of buttery crescent dough filled with a smooth vanilla cream cheese center and topped with a golden sugar crust.

Ingredients

2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
16 ounces cream cheese softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9×13-inch pan.

  • Press one can of crescent dough into the bottom of the pan and seal seams.

  • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then mix in egg and vanilla.

  • Spread filling evenly over crust.

  • Place second can of dough over filling and seal seams.

  • Brush melted butter on top and sprinkle with sugar.

  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes until golden and set.

  • Cool completely, refrigerate, then slice into bars.

Notes

Chill before slicing for clean edges. Add cinnamon or fruit preserves for variation.
