12 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
4–5 cloves garlic, sliced or minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh herbs for garnish
Reserved pasta water, as needed
Cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain.
Heat oil and butter in a skillet. Sauté garlic until golden.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer 8–10 minutes.
Stir in cream and Parmesan. Simmer until smooth and creamy.
Toss in cooked pasta. Add pasta water as needed to loosen sauce.
Serve hot with herbs and more Parmesan.
