2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
6–8 garlic cloves, minced or sliced
3½ cups low-sodium vegetable or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp chopped parsley or basil (optional)
1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Heat olive oil and butter in a wide skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in broth and cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
Add pasta. Simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.
Stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and herbs.
Serve immediately with extra cheese and herbs on top.
