A comforting one-pan dinner with creamy potatoes and savory ground meat, ready in just 30 minutes — perfect for weeknights or cozy meals.
1 lb ground beef, turkey, or pork
1 tbsp olive oil (if using lean meat)
1 yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp dried thyme
1 ½ cups chicken or beef broth (low sodium)
½ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella (optional)
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add onion and sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add sliced potatoes, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Toss to coat.
Pour in broth. Cover and simmer 10–12 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Reduce heat and stir in cream. Simmer 5 minutes uncovered to thicken.
Stir in cheese and mustard, if using. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
