Golden fried chicken bites coated in a sticky-sweet honey glaze with garlic, soy sauce, and sesame seeds. An easy takeout-style dinner made at home in under 30 minutes.
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into chunks
2 eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
Oil for frying
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 1 tbsp water)
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
In a bowl, whisk eggs, flour, cornstarch, and salt. Add chicken and toss to coat.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden, 3–4 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and water. Bring to a simmer.
Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened and glossy, about 2–3 minutes.
Toss fried chicken in the sauce. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Serve hot with rice or noodles.
