A quick and flavorful beef and broccoli stir-fry featuring tender meat, crisp vegetables, and a savory sauce—all ready in 30 minutes and better than takeout.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
3 cups broccoli florets
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
2 tbsp neutral oil (canola or avocado)
1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)
1 tsp sesame oil, divided

Sauce:
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 10–15 minutes.

  2. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain and rinse with cold water.

  3. Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth.

  4. Heat oil in a skillet or wok. Sear beef until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  5. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.

  6. Return beef and broccoli to the pan. Pour in sauce and stir-fry until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.

  7. Drizzle with remaining sesame oil and serve hot.
