Quick and flavorful beef and broccoli stir-fry with tender steak, crisp vegetables, and a savory garlic sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes — better than takeout!
1 lb flank or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating)
1 tsp cornstarch (for marinating)
1/2 tsp sesame oil (for marinating)
1 tbsp vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
Sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
1/2 cup beef broth or water
Marinate beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 10 minutes.
Whisk sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Blanch broccoli for 2 minutes, then shock in ice water.
Heat oil in a skillet. Sear beef in batches until browned. Set aside.
Stir-fry garlic and ginger. Add beef and broccoli back to the pan.
Pour in sauce and stir until thickened and glossy.
Serve hot over rice or noodles.
