Tender beef slices and vibrant broccoli are tossed in a savory garlic-ginger sauce in this quick, better-than-takeout beef and broccoli stir-fry.
1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
3 cups broccoli florets
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
1 tbsp oyster sauce (for marinade)
1 tsp cornstarch (for marinade)
½ tsp sesame oil (for marinade)
Sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp sesame oil
¼ cup beef broth or water
1 tsp cornstarch
Marinate sliced beef in soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for 15–20 minutes.
Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Sear beef in hot oil until browned; remove from pan.
Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
Add beef, broccoli, and sauce. Stir-fry 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
Garnish and serve over rice or noodles.
