A festive holiday twist on the classic caprese salad, this no-cook Christmas Tree Caprese Salad combines cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella in a tree-shaped display topped with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes
8 oz mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
1 bunch fresh basil leaves
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1–2 tbsp balsamic glaze
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Optional garnishes: yellow bell pepper star, rosemary sprigs, pomegranate seeds
Rinse and dry all ingredients. Drain mozzarella and pat dry.
On a platter, arrange tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in rows forming a Christmas tree shape.
Use basil leaves like foliage and alternate with tomatoes and cheese.
Add a “tree trunk” with olives or mozzarella at the base.
Top with a bell pepper star.
Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional garnishes. Serve immediately.
