8 frozen waffles cut into quarters
4 cups cooked breaded chicken tenders chopped
6 large eggs
2 cups whole milk or half-and-half
1/4 cup maple syrup plus more for serving
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon butter for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Arrange half of the waffle pieces in the dish and top with half of the chicken and cheese.

  • Repeat layers with remaining waffles, chicken, and cheese.

  • Whisk eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  • Pour mixture evenly over layers and press gently to soak.

  • Let sit 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Bake 35 to 45 minutes until center is set.

  • Rest 10 minutes before slicing and serve with maple syrup.
